Wet and wild

Last week was really hot and the natives were restless!! I got brave and set the sprinkler up in the backyard. Cady and Adria quickly got their water gear on and headed out back. Austin and I were playing it cool upstairs, watching and listening from our bedroom window.
They ran around the backyard, hugging, yelling "Oh brother!!"
Then they started drinking the water from the sprinkler. A little gross maybe but whatever makes them happy!!
After they were done with the water, we headed straight for the bathtub! Up in the bathroom, the fun began. "Ok ladies," I said. "Take your clothes off and put them in the sink." All of a sudden, Adria disappears.

Aunt Moe: Adria, where are you!!??
Adria: I'm downstairs!!
Aunt Moe: What are you doing downstairs??
Adria: Putting my clothes in the sink

Guess I should have been more specific....

Then... I know lots of you have already heard this story but... here we go!! Cady is sitting on the potty. Adria is naked, waiting to get into the tub.

Cady: Adria went poop too.
Adria, with GInormous eyes: And there was a beetle on my poop!!
Me: WHAT?!?!?!
Adria: I pooped outside
Me: WHAT?!?!?!
Cady: Yeah, she was wet so I told her to go outside.
Me: Did you wipe her bottom??
Cady: I don't remember

I really don't have too much to say. I laughed until I cried!! The whole thing is just too funny for words!! And the evidence... yeah, I had to take a picture. One of these days, I'm in big trouble for this! Sorry Adria!

THIS is hilarious!!

I just love my sweet, sassy little girl!! Yesterday, Cady and I were sitting on the couch watching TV together. Here's how this cute little conversation went...

Mommy: This show is hilarious!!

Cady: Yeah, it's pretty funny too!!!

Enough said!!!

Children's museum

After our trip to the museum a couple of weeks earlier, we decided we had to go again. We talked to Holly, Austin's physical therapist, and decided to have a PT session there. Austin was really excited to see Holly!! We headed up to Playscape where the kids immediately started having a blast. Austin had his new orthotics and shoes on. We took his walker and a little step stool. He was amazing!! He walked all over the place... without yelling or asking to sit "down".

Yellow tractor
Austin loves trains!! "Boo tain" he says!!
Austin found a friend while playing blocks. He was actually sharing too!
Cady in the playhouse
Too cute

All kids love the water table!! They get to wear cute little smocks and splash their hearts out! Too bad those smocks aren't in adult sizes!!
I told you he was walking around the museum!!!
On the carousel, Austin got to ride a 'neigh neigh'
Cady too!
Loving turtles!
And DINOS!!
He is trying to hug the back of this dino's head.
Cady loves to dig for dino bones.
Cady was really funny to watch too. She was okay with Austin getting a little extra attention but as soon as the camera turned her direction, she decided to ham it up!

This week's sillies

~Cady found a picture of one of the kids right after he/she was born. The baby was bright red, screaming, getting dried off on the warmer. "Mommy, is this me or Austin?" Ummm.... no clue!!! I couldn't see the baby's face and had absolutely no other hints to make a guess. Until I noticed the baby's naked bottom. "Oh, that's you Cady!!" I told her. She immediately asked "how do you know that mom??" "Mommies just know their babies" I told her. (Turn head and giggle)

~We have been listening the radio alot lately when we play upstairs. Earlier this week, I found Cady singing Brittney Spears "Womanizer". Not exactly a song fit for a five year old.

~In the car this week, again listening to music, Austin started singing "Boom boom pow" by the Black Eyed Peas. Another questionable song for young mouths. I guess I'll have to start paying more attention to what we are listening to.

I truly wonder what life was like before kids....

Father's Day, Take one

We had the whole morning planned. Trip to Walmart with Mommy and Cady to buy Daddy's gifts. Visit with Dan's family at Golden Corral for breakfast. Quality time at home with Daddy for Father's day.... but then we found out that it's not for another two weeks!!! Oh well, better early than never??

My future's so bright.....

He's gotta wear SHADES!!

Trying something new

Last week we increased Austin's physical therapy to twice a week. We have really been working hard to get him up on his feet. Holly and I decided to take him outside for a little stroll. He used his walker with a little help from us and walked up and down the driveway for about 20 minutes!! Record time!!!! Then we put him on a little tricycle to practice moving his legs. He did manage to keep his feet on the pedals, replace them on the pedals when they fell off and push a little with his legs!! Impressive!! And oh boy did he have a blast!

In the Jungle

Cady's school program was so much fun! Her teachers are amazing women who really know how to keep us entertained!! Here she is all dressed up before the program.
Her jungle hat and decorated shirt
"In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lion sleeps tonight!"
"Down by the bay, where the watermelon grow..."
Align CenterThe kids waved streamers around like rainbows.
Cady and Anna said a joke together that they practiced for weeks before the program.
Cady: What sound do two porcupines make when they kiss?
Anna: Ouch!!!
During the three little pigs song/skit, Cady made the house of sticks.
The kids in the background did the whole Blues Brothers thing! We were all giggling hysterically!

After the program, we went to the gym for cookies and juice.
Cady and Maya
Mrs. Brock, Cady, Mrs. Gang and Maya
Cady made her teachers special cards and cans with her picture on them.
Cady and Noah
Cady and Grandma
Girls!!! Makenna, Cady, Ruthanne and Anna
We forgot to bring her flowers to the program but she was very excited to see them when we got back to school!!

And one of Cady's favorite songs was "Hip hip hip, hippotamus!"
"Hip hip hooray God made all of us!!"

Green Valley Preschool was a total blessing for our family. I truly appreciate all of Cady's teachers and friends for making the past two years so amazing.
