It's obviously time to catch up on the blog so here goes...
The first week after school started, we took the kids to the fair. It was very hot outside, humid, but we had a really good time nonetheless! We started out at the milk barn with some grilled cheese sandwiches and chocolate milk for lunch. YUM!
One of the exhibits was space exploration... Cady got to check out a little rocket, try on a astronaut suit and see what apples weigh on different planets.

Then it was time to cool off with some dippin' dots! Another yummy treat!
Once in the animal barns, the kids loved seeing all the animals. Austin was super-excited to share with us all of his fun animal noises!
This sheep looks like a member of the KKK!
Cady couldn't wait to get her little hands on all the animals!
Missing naptime was a little difficult for Austin. He was little human heater but we held him and loved him as much as he wanted! So cuddly!
There was an area to get up close and personal with some baby cows. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more...

Don't forget to magic soap after playing with the animals.
In the livestock barn, Austin found a new favorite animal... the rooster. He was screaming 'cock-a-doodle-do' at the top of his lungs!
Checking out the fish pond, wishing for some fishing...
Inside this exhibit, there were fish bigger than Austin... and he was really excited!

Cady loved feeding the goats and pigs.

We talked about the environment and how to keep the earth clean. Cady wrote her name on a hand and put it on the greenhouse wall to show that she wants to help the world.

Austin's favorite... 'geen tr tr"... AKA green tractor!

Inside one of the exhibits was a fun place for the kids to play out of the sun.

By the end of the afternoon, we were all hot, stinky, sweaty, stinky, tired, stinky, cranky, stinky and full of amazing fair food! Oh, and did I mention STINKY! So much fun but boy am I glad it only comes once a year!
