Sick baby

My baby had his first ear infection this past weekend. Thursday he woke up from a nap with 101.6 temp and it got worse from there. We went to the clinic that night and they said it was a virus. He wouldn't nurse, take bottles... even slowed down with his wet diapers. Friday we went back to the office and they called it an ear infection... a little red, lots of fluid, flaming-red throat... he got Amoxicillin (yummy pink stuff!). I think the doctor really considered sending us to the hospital but new he was in GREAT hands!! We loved that baby all weekend with a high temp and just held him as he moaned in our arms. I did manage to go to work both Friday and Saturday and sent Austin to Grandma Ha's house to continue to be nursed there... plus he was super-close to Mommy at work!! His fever finally broke early Sunday morning. Today was the first day he really had his appetite back!! He hasn't had his helmet on since Thursday (wish me luck when I put it back on tomorrow!). We go tomorrow for a weight check and his 9 month shot (wish us more luck for that!). Thank goodness that baby isn't sick very often!! What a long weekend!!
